Lincoln Drill Hall
July 2024
The rebrand of the Lincoln Drill Hall was done of my own violation. The venue themselves were not involved in this project.
This was my first true "branding from scratch" project. I felt that the current design lacked a cutting edge or strong identity to battle other venues within the area. I wanted to try and fix that.

This was my first true "branding from scratch" project. I felt that the current design lacked a cutting edge or strong identity to battle other venues within the area. I wanted to try and fix that.

Creating new brand guidelines, colour ways and identity to honour the rich history of the building that the venue resides in was a key focal point of this design. A variety of acts grace the stage and the new identity had to recognise the breadth of genres.
Creating an instantly recognisable logomark many locals would recognise after the redesign was crucial to keep the rest of the brand tied to the famous building. It draws from the sculpture created by Rick Kirby on the front wall, iconic to residents of the city.

The new brand uses colours to differentiate between genres at a glance. Red for music, blue for theatre, purple for comedy etc.
